Oscar-nominatd MCU alum Sebastian Stan is in talks to join the cast of the long-awaited DC Studios sequel "The Batman Part II". It's unclear what part he'll play in Matt Reeves's film, which is expected to begin shooting next spring, but rumors seem to hint at a villain. Fans are speculating it might even be Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face, after Stan's stylist, Michael Fisher posted photoshopped photos of the actor as Two-Face on his Instagram. The release date is set for October 1, 2027.
"The Batman Part II" is written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin. Robert Pattinson will return in the lead role, and the cast also includes Scarlett Johansson in an unknown role, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. Barry Keoghan is also expected to appear once more as the Joker.
"The Batman Part II" isn't officially part of the newly rebooted DCU, but it's still being developed under James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Studios banner. "The Batman" opened in theaters in 2022 and grossed $772 million worldwide.
Stan also stars in the upcoming Marvel movie "Avengers: Doomsday" and the Romanian thriller "Fjord" written/directed by Cristian Mungiu and co-starring Renate Reinsve.
