Omari Hardwick Joins Gerard Butler & Hayley Atwell In Hostage Thriller EMPIRE CITY
Omari Hardwick ("Power", "Army of the Dead") is set to join the cast of the upcoming action thriller "Empire City". Filming is currrently underway in Melbourne, Australia. Directed by Michael Matthews ("Love and Monsters") from a script by Brian Tucker ("Secret Invasion") and S. Craig Zahler ("Bone Tomahawk"), the film stars Gerard Butler and Hayley Atwell.

The film focuses on a hostage crisis that erupts inside New York's Clybourn Building, and it follows Rhett (Butler), a firefighter who, alongside his squad and his NYPD wife Dani (Atwell), must fight and navigate his way through the building to rescue captives trapped inside. Hardwick will play Hawkins, the film's antagonist.

The cast also includes Mel Jarnson ("Mortal Kombat") as Hawkins' right-hand operative, Leda, as well as Tre Hale ("Platonic"), Michael Beach ("Mayor of Kingstown"), Dominic Bogart ("American Primeval"), Stephen Murphy ("The Odyssey"), and Jack DiFalco ("Daredevil") as Rhett's squad members. Kaiwi Lyman ("Den Of Thieves") also stars in a supporting role.

"Empire City" is produced by Marc Butan ("Plane"), Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel ("Paris Has Fallen"), and Paul Currie ("Hacksaw Ridge").

Hardwick can next be seen in Prime Video's limited series "The Greatest" that chronicles Muhammad Ali's life and career. He is also set to star in the "Bosch" prequel series "Start Of Watch" for MGM+.
