KPOP DEMON HUNTERS Screenwriters Attached to Write Tim Burton's ATTACK OF THE FIFTY FOOT WOMAN Remake

Kpop Dedmon Hunters Screenwriters To Write Tim Burton Attack Of The Fifty Foot Woman Remake

"KPop Demon Hunters" screenwriters Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan have signed on to pen the script to Tim Burton's remake of the classic 1958 B-movie sci-fi horror "Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman". The original film's plot follows a wealthy heiress who grows into a giant because of an alien encounter and exacts revenge on her cheating husband. Margot Robbie is attached to play the titular giant woman.

Burton is also producing the Warner Bros. film alongside Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper. "Gone Girl" author Gillian Flynn penned an earlier draft of the script. Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara's production company LuckyChap is on board to produce and develop. Morgan Begg, the company's director of development, is overseeing the project. Kai Dolbashian serves as executive producer.

Jimenez and McMechan said the following in a statement: "We're obsessed with the idea of a fifty-foot woman wreaking havoc because a man did her dirty. We have a feeling a lot of people will relate".

Since the release of "KPop Demon Hunters" last summer, the film has become a worldwide phenomenon, ranking as Netflix's most-watched film of all time. Its songs broke records on Billboard 200, and the movie won two trophies at this year's Golden Gobes for Best Animated Motion Picture and Best Original Song.
