"The Wild Robot" opened in first place with $35.7 million from 3,962 theaters. Overseas it grossed $18.1 million from 21 markets, which brings the worldwide debut to $53.9 million against a $78 million budget. "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" is still going strong, raking in $16.2 million in its fourth weekend, down 37.5% from the previous frame. The sequel has now grossed a total of $250.3 million domestically and $123.8 million from foreign markets. That adds up to $374.1 million worldwide against a budget of $100 million.
The animated film "Transformers One" dropped a massive 62.8% in its sophomore weekend, finishing in third place with $9.1 million. The film's domestic tally has reached $39 million, while internationally it adds another $32.8 million for a global total of $71.8 million. The film reportedly cost around $75 million to produce.
