Quentin Tarantino in Talks to Direct Episodes of FX's JUSTIFIED Revival Starring Timothy Olyphant

Quentin Tarantino in Talks to Direct Episodes of FX's JUSTIFIED Revival Starring Timothy Olyphant
Quentin Tarantino is reportedly in early talks to direct one or two episodes of FX's limited series revival "Justified: City of Primeval", which is based on Elmore Leonard's 1980 novel "City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit". Timothy Olyphant is set to reprise the role of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, which was created by Leonard and featured in several of his books. The original show was based on the novel "Fire in the Hole".

The show will pick up eight years after Givens left Kentucky behind. He now lives in Miami, a walking anachronism balancing his life as a U.S. Marshal and part-time father of a 14-year-old girl. His hair is grayer, his hat is dirtier, and the road in front of him is suddenly a lot shorter than the road behind.

Dave Andron and Michael Dinner are on board as writers, showrunners and executive producers. Dinner will also direct episodes. Olyphant will executive produce alongside "Justified" creator Graham Yost, Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Peter Leonard, Taylor Elmore and Chris Provenzano.

Tarantino and Olyphant recently worked together on "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood". Tarantino previously adapted Elmore Leonard's novel "Rum Punch" into the 1997 film "Jackie Brown". He has also optioned several Leonard titles and talked about directing one of his Westerns, "Forty Lashes Less One". Throughout his career, Tarantino has directed episodes of shows he's liked including "Motherhood" during the first season of "ER", and the "CSI" episode "Grave Danger".
