Marvel Cinematic Universe alum Chris Evans is in talks to star as legendary actor Gene Kelly in an upcoming film based on an original idea by Evans. The film will be produced by "Gladiator" and "Skyfall" scribe John Logan.
The film will focus on a 12-year-old boy who works on the MGM Lot in 1952 and begins to create an imagined friendship with the legendary movie star Kelly while working on his newest film. A studio is not yet attached to the project.
Evans will produce the film alongside Logan, who is also writing the script. Rian Johnson is set to produce alongside Ram Bergman and Mark Kassen. Evans and Johnson last worked together on "Knives Out". A sequel for that movie is currently in post-production.
Evans' upcoming projects also include the "Toy Story" spinoff "Lightyear", and the Russo Brothers' new film "The Gray Man" in which he stars opposite Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas and Billy Bob Thornton.
