Sienna Miller and Sam Worthington Join Kevin Costner's HORIZON

Sienna Miller Sam Worthington Picture

Sienna Miller ("Anatomy of a Scandal") and Sam Worthington ("Avatar") are set to star in the upcoming historical epic "Horizon", which will be directed, produced and financed by Oscar-winner Kevin Costner ("Dances With Wolves", "Yellowstone").

Costner also wrote the script alongside Jon Baird ("Filth", "Stan & Ollie"). The film is planned to be the first of a trilogy, and it chronicles a multi-faceted, 15-year span of pre- and post-Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West. Experienced through the eyes of many, the epic journey is fraught with peril and intrigue from the constant onslaught of natural elements to the interactions with the Indigenous peoples who lived on the land and the determination and at many times ruthlessness of those who sought to settle it.

The film is a longtime passion project for Costner, and will be his first directorial project since the 2003 western "Open Range". The cast also includes Jamie Campbell Bower ("Stranger Things").

Costner will produce through his Territory Pictures. Warner Bros./New Line will come aboard in a negative pickup capacity to release the film. Production is expected to begin on August 29th in Utah.

Miller recently finished work on "My Mother's Wedding" in which she stars opposite Scarlett Johannsson and Kristin Scott Thomas, and will next star in Oren Moverman's Groucho Marx movie "Raised Eyebrows" opposite Geoffrey Rush and Charlie Plummer, and Scott Z. Burns' Apple TV anthology series "Extrapolations" alongside Meryl Streep and Kit Harrington.

Worthington can next be seen reprising his lead role in James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water", which will be followed by several other sequels.
