Kaley Cuoco to Lead Peacock Comedic Thriller Series BASED ON A TRUE STORY

Kaley Cuoco Picture

Two-time Emmy nominee Kaley Cuoco ("The Flight Attendant") has signed on to star in Peacock's upcoming comedic thriller series from "The Boys" writer/producer Craig Rosenberg and "Ozark" star/producer Jason Bateman.

Inspired by an actual "bizarre true event", the series follows a realtor, a plumber and a former tennis star whose lives unexpectedly collide, exposing America's obsession with true crime, murder and the slow close toilet seat. Rosenberg will write for the show, and Cuoco will play a married woman named Ava Bartlett. While details are being kept under wraps, it would seem that Ava is the realtor character.

Rosenberg will executive produce alongside Bateman and Michael Costigan ("American Gangster", "Prometheus"), and will also serve as showrunner.

Peacock has yet to announce a premiere date for "Based on a True Story". The series was given a straight-to-series order in April.

Cuoco is currently working on the action-thriller "Role Play" directed by Thomas Vincent. The film also stars David Oyelowo, Bill Nighy and Connie Nielsen.
