Steven Yeun To Join Robert Pattinson In Bong Joon Ho's New Sci-Fi Thriller

Steven Yeun To Join Robert Pattinson In Bong Joon Ho's New Sci-Fi Thriller
Oscar-nominated actor Steven Yeun ("Minari", "The Walking Dead") is set to star in "Parasite" and "Snowpiercer" filmmaker Bong Joon Ho's new film, a sci-fi thriller developed for Warner Bros, based on the novel "Mickey7" by Edward Ashton.

The novel's story, which has been described as "The Martian" meets "Dark Matter", follows a disposable employee, also known as an "expendable", on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim, who refuses to let his replacement clone, dubbed Mickey8, take his place. The film's plot details have not been confirmed, and given Bong's past experiences with adaptations, his version might be significantly different from the novel's.

The cast also includes Robert Pattinson, Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette and Naomie Ackie. Pattinson is expected to play the protagonist.

Bong will also produce the upcoming film through his company Offscreen, alongside Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B, and Dooho Choi of Kate Street Pictures. Peter Dodd will oversee on behalf of Warner Bros.

Yeun can next be seen in Jordan Peele's "Nope", and the Netflix comedy "Beef".
