Kevin Costner in Talks to Play Bill Clinton In Drama Series UNITED

Kevin Costner is in negotiations to play former U.S. President Bill Clinton in the political drama series "United". The show will be written and directed by David Raymond ("Night Hunter"), and is produced by Appian Way, Onwards Studios and Prime Focus DNEG in association with the United Nations. Raymond is a known collaborator of the UN's Creative Community Outreach Initiative. Fifth Season serves as the distributor.

"United" will focuse on true stories of heroism and perseverance by humanitarians in pursuit of making the world a better place for all. The first season is reportedly set during the 1999 uprising in East Timor, which took place following a UN-organized independence referendum in the territory.

The project is in early development. Chukwudi Iwuji ("Play Dirty"), is also in talks to star as UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. Costner will executive-produce the series alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.

Costner can next be seen in the second part of his western epic "Horizon: An American Saga". "Chapter 2" premiered at Venice last year, but it doesn't yet have a theatrical release date. He's also set to star in the dramedy "Honeymoond With Harry" alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, and the horror thriller "Headhunters".
