During a relatively quiet weekend, "Predator: Badlands" dominated the box office with a franchise-best performance. Meanwhile, a slew of lofty newcomers failed to attract moviegoers, including the inspirational true story drama "Sarah's Oil", the historical courtroom thriller "Nuremberg" starring Russell Crowe and Rami Malek, the psychological drama "Die My Love" starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, and the boxing biopic "Christy" starring Sydney Sweeney. The latter failed to make the Top 10.

"Predator: Badlands" topped the charts with $40 million from 3,725 theaters, which is a record for the Predator franchise. The original 1987 movie opened with $12 million ($34 million adjusted for inflation), while the 1990 sequel opened with just $8.7 million ($24.8 million in 2025). The 2010 reboot "Predators" scored a $24.7 million debut, while Shane Black's infamous "The Predator" opened with $24.6 million in 2018.
Overseas, "Predator: Badlands" added another $39.2 million for a worldwide total of $79.2 million. The film's budget is estimated at around $105 million, so it's going to need to keep up the pace in the next weeks if it hopes to score a profit. The film was positively received by both critics and moviegoers (85% on Rotten Tomatoes and "A-" CinemaScore).
The romantic drama "Regretting You" is holding in second place for its third weekend with $6.6 million, down 14.9% from last week. The film has now grossed a total of $38.1 million domestically and another $32.4 million internationally. That's a total of $70.5 million worldwide against a $30 million budget.
The horror sequel "Black Phone 2" is still going strong in its fourth week, grossing $5.1 million over the weekend. That's a soft 37.5% decline. The film's domestic total has reached $70 million, while overseas it adds another $50.2 million for a global total of $120.2 million against a $30 million budget.
Amazon/MGM's newly released "Sarah's Oil" opened in fourth place with a modest $4.2 million from 2,410 theaters. The film cost around $18 million to produce. Despite its low debut, it received a very warm reception from both critics and audiences (80% on Rotten Tomatoes and "A+" CinemaScore).
"Nuremberg" arrived in fifth place with $3.8 million from 1,802 theaters against a $12 million budget. The film received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics (70% on Rotten Tomatoes), but moviegoers generally liked it ("A-" CinemaScore).
In eighth place, "Die My Love" opened with $2.6 million from 1,983 theaters. The film cost around $20 million to produce. The critical reception was mixed-to-positive (75% on Rotten Tomatoes), while moviegoers generally hated it ("D+" CinemaScore).
And the last of the new wide releases, "Christy" made its debut outside the Top 10 with $1.3 million from 2,184 theaters. Critics were mostly mixed on the movie (66% on Rotten Tomatoes), while the audience reception was lukewarm.
