Eric Dane To Guest Star In BRILLIANT MINDS Season 2

Brilliant Minds Season 2 Eric Dane Guest Star

Brilliant Minds Season 2 Eric Dane and Zachary Quinto
"Grey's Anatomy" and "The Last Ship" alum Eric Dane will be appearing in a guest-starring role on the second season of the NBC medical drama series "Brilliant Minds". Dane will be portraying a heroic firefighter who struggles to share his ALS diagnosis with his family. In real life, Dane has revealed in April that he had been diagnosed with ALS.

ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control. Its exact cause is not known, but there is no cure. While treatment can't reverse the condition, it can slow the progression of symptoms.

Dane recently missed a planned "Grey's Anatomy" reunion at the 77th Emmy Awards following his diagnosis. He revealed he was "getting stitches" in his head after losing balance and falling in his kitchen, shortly before he was scheduled to present with fellow cast alum Jesse Williams.

"Brilliant Minds" is inspired by the extraordinary life and work of world-famous author and physician Oliver Sacks, and it stars Zachary Quinto as Dr. Oliver Wolf, a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier – the human mind – while grappling with their own relationships and mental health. The cast also includes Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Teddy Sears, and Donna Murphy.

Dane is currently in production on Season 3 of HBO’s "Euphoria".
