The winners of the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmys have been announced on Friday during a ceremony hosted by Mario Lopez at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. ABC's "General Hospital" was the big winner, taking home the trophy for Best Drama Series for a second year in a row. The show dominated the evening with seven awards.
In the lead soap acting categories, Nancy Lee Grahn won her third Emmy for playing Alexis Davis on "General Hospital", while Paul Telfer won for playing Xander Kiriakis on "Days of Our Lives". Meanwhile, "The Young and the Restless" actress Susan Walters and "General Hospital" actor Jonathan Jackson scored trophies in the supporting categories. Lisa Yamada won the inaugural Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series award for "The Bold and the Beautiful".
Other winners include "Live with Kelly & Mark" in the Daytime Talk Series category. Drew Barrymore won for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host. Syndicated shows won six trophies, including for Disney Entertainment Distribution's "Live with Kelly & Mark" and CBS Media Ventures' "Hot Bench". Netflix led all platforms in wins a total of nine, followed by ABC with eight and CBS and Peacock with two each.
"Days of Our Lives" star Deidre Hall presented news anchor/host Deborah Norville with the Daytime Emmys' Lifetime Achievement Award.
