Lea Seydoux ("Blue is the Warmest Colour", "No Time to Die") will star in Marie Kreutzer's upcoming drama "Gentle Monster", which marks the filmmaker's first feature since her critically acclaimed 2022 historical drama "Corsage" starring Vicky Krieps. The film was one of ten projects selected for the Investors Circle at this year's Cannes Film Market where it was awarded the initiative's main ArteKino International Prize.
Seydoux will star as a renowned pianist who, after relocating with her family to the countryside, uncovers a life-shattering truth that forces her to confront the complexities of love, trust, and deception. The cast also includes Jella Haase, Laurence Rupp and Catherine Deneuve.
The film is produced by Alexander Gehr and Johanna Scherz at Vienna-based Film AG, in coproduction with Germany's Komplizen Film and France's Kazak Production. Paris-based sales agent, producer, and financier mk2 Films is handling international sales with the film. The company is also backing the film as its first investment under a multi-year slate financing deal with international fund manager IPR.VC.
Seydou can also be seen in Hungarian director Ildiko Enyedi's drama "Silent Friend', which had its premiere in competition at the 2025 Venice Film Festival where it won six prizes. She also appears in David and Nathan Zellner's sci-fi comedy "Alpha Gang", alongside Cate Blanchett, David Bautista, Steven Yeun, Zoë Kravitz, Riley Keough and Channing Tatum.
