Aaron Taylor-Johnson ("28 Years Later") and Lily-Rose Depp, who both starred in Robert Eggers"s 2024 gothic horror remake "Nosferatu", are in talks to re-team with the acclaimed filmmaker for his upcoming film "Werwulf".
Eggers will direct the werewolf horror film from a script he co-wrote with Sjón. The duo previously collaborated on the script for the 2022 film "The Northman", which Eggers also directed. "Werwulf" is set for a Christmas Day 2026 release in North America.
Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title are producing alongside Eggers and Sjón, while Maiden Voyage's Chris and Eleanor Columbus are serving as executive producers.
Taylor-Johnson can next be seen in the British crime thriller "Fuze" opposite Theo James, Sam Worthington and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. He also stars in the horror sequel "28 Years Later: The Bone Temple", which will be released on January 16, 2026, and is on board to star in the crime thriller "Blood on Snow" based on the Jo Nesbo novel of the same name.
Depp is also attached to star in the sci-fi comedy "Alpha Gang" directed by David Zellner and Nathan Zellner. The film's cast includes Cate Blanchett, Chris Pine, Dave Bautista, Lea Seydoux, Adria Arjona, Doona Bae and Kelvin Harrison Jr..
