Creator R. Scott Gemmill has said in interviews that the second season will take place over the Fourth of July weekend and that it would feature a time jump, new characters and possible promotions for the cast set to return. Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard, and Lucas Iverson have joined the recurring cast.
The show chronicles the daily lives of healthcare professionals in a Pittsburgh hospital as they juggle personal crises, workplace politics, and the emotional toll of treating critically ill patients, with a real-time twist.
Noah Wyle leads the cast, executive produces and writes. The ensemble cast also includes Katherine LaNasa, Tracy Ifeachor, Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Fiona Dourif, Supriya Ganesh, Shabana Azeez, Gerran Howell and guest star Shawn Hatosy.
"The Pitt" is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
