"G.L.O.W." and Community" star Alison Brie is set to star in FX's upcoming Untitled Witness Protection pilot from Hannah Fidell and Gina Welch ("Clipped"). The latter is set as co-showrunner, writer and executive producer. David Chase ("The Sopranos") was previously attached, but was forced to exit because he's getting ready for a new big screen project set to shoot early next year.
In the Untitled Witness Protection, a violent confrontation drives a high-end D.C. madam to turn on her partner and enter witness protection in seaside Maine with her adolescent daughter.
The pilot will be directed by Fidell. The project is based on a previously unproduced script by Chase and will feature a contemporary take. FX Productions will produce the pilot, and Nicole Lambert of Riverain Pictures will executive produce.
Brie recently wrapped production on the Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films' live-action movie "Masters of the Universe", in which she stars as Evil-Lyn. She can next be seen in the horror film "Together" opposite her husband Dave Franco. The film will be released on July 30th.
