HARRY POTTER Series First Look Images Showcase Titular Young Wizard and Nick Frost as Hagrid

HBO's "Harry Potter" series has officially started production at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the U.K, and we now have our first look at two of the show's actors in character: Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter and Nick Frost as Hagrid. Filming on Season 1 is expected to last until the spring of 2026, with Season 2 going into production after a short break.

Arabella Stanton stars as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The cast also includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge. Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley and Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley.

As filming is underway, HBO also offered a few new casting reveals: Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.

Francesca Gardiner serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer while Mark Mylod ("Succession") will direct multiple episodes and executive produce. The series has been described as a new take on the source material, with each of the seven Harry Potter books making up an entire season.

HBO produces in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. The series is executive produced by JK Rowling, Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
