Bel Powley, Daniel Rigby, Bertie Carvel, Johnny Flynn and More Join HARRY POTTER Series

HBO is rounding out its cast of the upcoming "Harry Potter" series. Bel Powley ("The Diary of a Teenage Girl") and Daniel Rigby ("Flowers") will star as Petunia and Vernon Dursley, characters played by Fiona Shaw and Richard Griffiths in the films.

Tony and Olivier Award winner Bertie Carvel ("The Crown", "Dalgliesh") will play Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge. The character was played by Robert Hardy in the film series. Other roles announced by HBO are: Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy and Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, and Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown.

As previously announced, Dominic McLaughlin will play Harry, Arabella Stanton stars as Hermione, and Alastair Stout has been cast as Ron. Other cast members are John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.

Production is expected to begin in the U.K. over the summer. The show, which has been described as a "faithful adaptation" of J.K. Rowling's iconic book series, is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner, who also serves as showrunner. Mark Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes. The series will explore "every corner of the wizarding world", and each season "will bring 'Harry Potter' and its incredible adventures to new and existing audiences".

"Harry Potter" is produced by HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. The series is also executive produced by Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
