Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser ("Richard Jewell", "Black Bird") have signed on to star in the upcoming action comedy "Balls Up" directed by Peter Farrelly ("Green Book", "Ricky Stanicky") from a script by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese ("Deadpool & Wolverine").

The Skydance and Amazon MGM Studios production will follow two American marketing executives who are fired for blowing a client sponsorship opportunity and decide to use their free tickets to a major soccer match. Their drunken debauchery leads them to be hunted by every person across the country.

Producers include Skydance's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger and Andrew Muscato, as well as Wernick and Reese. The project marks the fourth collaboration for Amazon MGM and Skydance.

Wahlberg can next be seen in Netflix's "The Union" with Halle Berry on August 16, Mel Gibson's thriller "Flight Risk" on October 18, and Shane Black's crime thriller "Play Dirty".

Hauser's upcoming projects include "The Instigators", which hits theaters on August 9, and Tony Tost's directorial debut "Americana" in which he stars opposite Sydney Sweeney. He's also set to star in a Chris Farley biopic for New Line, Paramount's "Naked Gun" reboot, and the Bruce Springsteen biopic "Deliver Me from Nowhere" starring Jeremy Allen White.
