While the box-office continues to report lackluster earnings, the sequel "Bad Boys: Ride or Die" arrived to bring a breath of fresh air with a plentiful debut. On the other hand, "The Watcher", the directorial debut of Ishana Shyamalan, M. Night Shyamalan's daughter, only managed a modest debut for Warner Bros.

"Bad Boys: Ride or Die" opened with $56.5 million from 3,885 theaters, a step down from the record-breaking $62 million January debut of "Bad Boys for Life". The new installment is also pretty expensive, carrying a price tag of $100 million. Overseas, the film raked in another $48.6 million for a global total of $105.1 million. While the critical reception was generally mixed (60% on Rotten Tomatoes), audiences mostly liked the film ("A-" CinemaScore).
The animated film "The Garfield Movie" dropped to second place with $10 million, down 28.6% from its sophomore frame. The film has now grossed $68.6 million after 17 days in theaters. Overseas it adds another $124.4 million for a global total of $192.7 million.
John Krasinski's "IF" finished in third place with $7.8 million, a soft 25.3% decline from the previous week. The film is slowly rising from its disappointing debut and has now grossed $93.3 million domestically and $67.2 million overseas, which adds up to $160.5 million worldwide.
In fourth place, the horror film "The Watchers" scored a low $7 million debut from 3,351 theaters. The film also grossed $4.6 million from foreign markets. The production budget is estimated at around $30 million. The critical reception was pretty bad (30% on Rotten Tomatoes), and it looks like moviegoers also hated the movie ("C-" from CinemaScore).
