DEXTER's Jennifer Carpenter Joins 1923 Season 2

DEXTER's Jennifer Carpenter Joins 1923 Season 2
"Dexter" and "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" star Jennifer Carpenter has joined the cast of the upcoming second season of the Paramount+ series "1923". The actress will play Mamie Fossett, a highly capable U.S. Deputy Marshall who serves warrants and makes arrests with confidence ahead of her time.

The second season will begin production later this year. "1923" introduces a new generation of Duttons and explores the early 20th century when pandemics, historic drought and the end of Prohibition all plague the Mountain West and the Duttons who call it home.

Season 1 starred Helen Mirren, Harrison Ford, Brandon Sklenar, Aminah Nieves, Brian Geraghty, Sebastian Roche, Jennifer Ehle, Marley Shelton and Robert Patrick.

Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, the series is executive produced by "Yellowstone" co-creator Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Ben Richardson, Michael Friedman and Keith Cox.

Carpenter recently finished work on the limited thriller series "Ballistic" in which she stars as a secret operative who, after a mission is compromised, is forced into a psychological game of cat and mouse with her own mind while being hunted down by the very program that created her.
