"Arrow" star Stephen Amell has landed the lead role in NBC's upcoming "Suits: LA", a spinoff of the popular show "Suits" that hails from the original show's creator Aaron Korsch. Earlier this month, the spinoff landed a pilot order at NBC. Production is scheduled to start in late March in Vancouver.
The new series will follow a new group led by Ted Black (Amell), a former New York prosecutor who joined forces 15 years ago with his old buddy, Stuart Lane, to build an L.A. law firm that specializes in criminal and entertainment law.
Here is the official logline: "His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can't help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.".
David Bartis, Doug Liman, Gene Klein and Victoria Mahoney are executive producers. Mahoney will direct the pilot.
Amell can next be seen in Netflix's "Code: 8 Part II".
