Emma Stone in Talks to Star in Yorgos Lanthimos' SAVE THE GREEN PLANET Remake

Emma Stone in Talks to Star in Yorgos Lanthimos' SAVE THE GREEN PLANET Remake
Oscar winner Emma Stone ("La La Land", "Poor Things") is in talks to reunite with filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos for the remake of the 2003 South Korean fantasy comedy "Save the Green Planet". The original was directed by Jang Joon-hwan, who was previously attached to direct the remake.

The story follows a disillusioned young man who captures and tortures a businessman whom he believes to be part of an alien invasion. A battle of wits ensues between the captor, his devoted girlfriend, the businessman and a private detective. Stone's role will most likely be a supporting part.

With a script penned by Will Tracy ("Succession", "The Menu"), the remake, which has been in the works for several years, is expected to begin filming in the summer in the UK and New York.

Stone and Lanthimos previously worked together on "The Favorite" and recently "Poor Things", which earned Stone a BAFTA and Golden Globe, and could land her a second Academy Award. They will also collaborate on the anthology film "Kinds of Kindness", which also stars Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley.
