Margot Robbie in Talks to Replace Emma Stone in Damien Chazelle's BABYLON

Margot Robbie in Talks to Replace Emma Stone in Damien Chazelle's BABYLON
Oscar nominated actress Margot Robbie ("Bombshell", "Birds of Prey") is in early talks to replace Emma Stone, who was set to re-team with "La La Land" helmer Damien Chazelle for the period drama "Babylon".

Stone was forced to exit the film due to scheduling issues. The film is set during the transition from silent films to talkies, and will feature a mix of real-life and fictional characters.

If the deal goes through, Robbie would star as Clara Bow, the early sex symbol and box office star who was Hollywood’s first "It" girl. Brad Pitt is also set to star as a fictional character.

The film will be produced by Olivia Hamilton, Matt Plouffe, Marc Platt and Tobey Maguire. Chazelle penned a massive 180-page script for the film, and the budget is estimated between $80-100 million. The release date is set for Christmas Day 2021.

Robbie's voice can next be heard in "Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway", and she can be seen in 2021's "The Suicide Squad".
