Rashida Jones and Bill Murray to Star in Sofia Coppola's ON THE ROCKS

Bill Murray and Rashida Jones are set to star in Sofia Coppola's new film "On the Rocks". Murray and Coppola previously worked together on the 2003 film "Lost in Translation", which earned the filmmaker an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, and the actor's 2015 Netflix special "A Very Murray Christmas".

The film, which is the first under the recently formed partnership between A24 and Apple, will revolve around a young mother (Jones) who reconnects with her larger than life playboy father (Murray) on an adventure through New York. A24 and Coppola previously partnered on "The Bling Ring". Apple is also rumored to be working on a streaming service of their own, with plans to launch in 2019. "On the Rocks" is scheduled to begin production next month.

Jones recently directed the Netflix documentary "Quincy" that focused on her father, legendary record producer Quincy Jones, and she will also lend her voice to the Fox animated series "Duncanville". She also finished work on the drama "The Sound of Silence", which co-stars Peter Sarsgaard.

Murray is currently filming Wes Anderson's next film "The French Dispatch" and will also appear in Jim Jarmusch's "The Dead Don't Die".
