Stand-up comedian, writer, actor, and podcaster Stavros Halkias ("Bugonia", "Let's Start a Cult", "Tires") has joined the cast of A24's upcoming biopic "Tony", which focuses on influential chef, writer, and travel journalist Anthony Bourdain. The film is directed by Matt Johnson ("BlackBerry") from a script by Todd Bartels and Lou Howe.

Character details are under wraps, but it has been reported that the film takes place during the summer of 1976, when a young Anthony Bourdain has a life-changing summer in Provincetown. The cast includes Dominic Sessa ("The Holdovers") in the lead role alongside Antonio Banderas, Emilia Jones, Leo Woodall, Monica Raymund and Caroline Portu.

Production has already wrapped. The film was shot in Provincetown on Cape Cod and on the South Shore.

A24 is producing with Tim and Trevor White under their Star Thrower ("The Post", "King Richard") banner, along with Johnson and Matthew Miller through their Zapruder Films. Executive producers include Chris Stinson, Amy Greene, Lou Howe, Todd Bartels and Emily Rose, as well as Kimberly Witherspoon, who reps Bourdain's estate.
