Jefferson White ("Yellowstone"), Crispin Glover ("Back to the Future"), Mena Suvari ("American Beauty") and Tyler Posey (MTV's "Teen Wolf", "Queen of the Ring") have signed on to star in the period drama "Death of a Brewer" from Price Productions. The film is currently shooting in Iowa and Illinois.

The independent film is written and directed by Mokotsi Rukundo ("East of Middle West") based on the historical fiction novel "Beer Money: A Tale of the Iowa City Beer Mafia" by S.C. "Steve" Sherman ("Coralville"). Iowa added an amendment to the state constitution in 1882, making the manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages illegal, 40 years before the nationwide ban in the 1920s. Set in 1884, the film tells the story of a young doctor who becomes entangled in a deadly conflict between a brewing empire and a radical temperance movement, forcing him to confront his morals in a world where survival and loyalty are at odds.

The cast also includes Andy Dispensa, Sydney Pierick and Mickey O'Sullivan. Keli Price of Price Productions negotiated the deals on behalf of the production. Price is producing alongside Doug Alberhasky, who is executive producing with Ron Kirchhoff.

Alberhasky had this to say about the project: "We're going to do for beer what Field of Dreams did for baseball. It's not just going to be an Iowa City phenomenon, not just an Iowa, Midwest, United States phenomenon, ('Death of a Brewer,') is going to go all over the world, because they never had prohibition in England, Germany, or Australia, people are going to be fascinated with this story."
