Irish actor Jack Reynor ("Midsommar") and Rachel Brosnahan ("Superman") have joined the second season of the Apple TV+ Emmy-nominated anthology legal drama series "Presumed Innocent". While the first season was based on Scott Turow's 1987 bestselling novel, which was previously adapted into the 1990 movie starring Harrison Ford, Season 2 will be based on Jo Murray's debut legal thriller "Dissection of a Murder", which will be released in 2026.
Here's the novel's description: "When Leila Reynolds is handed her first murder case, she's shocked at how high-profile it is: the murder of a well-respected, well-known judge. This shouldn't be the kind of case she's leading; it's way beyond her expertise. But the defendant, Jack Millman, is clear. He wants her, and only her."
Reynor can next be seen in the new season of the Prime Video series "Citadel", and will be reteaming with filmmaker John Carney for a fourth time on his upcoming movie "Power Ballad".
"Presumed Innocent" hails from Bad Robot Productions and David E. Kelley Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television. David E. Kelley serves as showrunner on Season 2 alongside Erica Lipez ("We Were the Lucky Ones", "The Morning Show"). J.J. Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich executive produce for Bad Robot. Kelley executive produces through David E. Kelley Productions alongside Matthew Tinker and Lipez. Dustin Thomason also executive produces. Brosnahan will also serve as executive producer, alongside Gyllenhaal, who starred in the first season. Turow co-executive produces.
