Rupert Friend, Kevin Durand & Jaeden Martell to Star in Adaptation of Guillermo Del Toro's Novella THE BOY IN THE IRON BOX

Rupert Friend Kevin Durand Jaeden Martell Guillermo Del Toro Novella Adaptation Boy In Iron Box

Rupert Friend ("Companion", "Jurassic World Rebirth"), Kevin Durand ("The Naked Gun", "Abigail"), and Jaeden Martell ("It" Chapter 1 and 2) are set to star in Netflix's upcoming horror film "The Boy in the Iron Box" based on Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan's six-part novella series. Production is expected to start in October.

The story centers around a plane carrying a team of mercenaries that crash lands on a remote snowy summit. When they come across a maze-like stone fortress, it's no refuge from the wolves and the freezing wind. It's more like a trap. What they discover can stop the heart — or worse. As terror takes a new shape, the real battle for survival begins.

David Prior ("Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities") will direct from his own script. Del Toro will produce alongside longtime partner J. Miles Dale.

Del Toro's latest film, a new adaptation of Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein: or, The Modern Prometheus", recently premiered at the Venice Film Festival. Starring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi and Christopher Waltz, the film will open in select theaters on October 17th, followed by a streaming release via Netflix on November 7th.
