Claire Danes To Star in HBO Drama From MY SO-CALLED LIFE Creator Winnie Holzman

"My So-Called Life" star Claire Danes and creator Winnie Holzman are set to reunite more than 30 years after they worked together for the upcoming HBO family drama series "The Applebaum Curse". Holzman made it clear that "The Applebaum Curse" isn't a reboot of "My So-Called Life", and that it's a completely different story.

The show is being described as an ongoing one-hour drama series about a dysfunctional family with Claire Danes in the lead role. Danes is also set to serve as an executive producer in addition to starring, while Holzman will serve as writer and executive producer as well as showrunner.

"My So-Called Life" ran for one year on ABC, between 1994-1995, but it had a major impact on how teenage coming-of-age tales were told on screen, influencing shows like "Dawson's Creek" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". Danes, earned a Golden Globe Award and Emmy nomination for the show, which also starred Jared Leto and Wilson Cruz.

Danes is also set to star in the Netflix limited series "The Beast in Me", which she executive produces with Gabe Rotter, Howard Gordon, Jodie Foster and Conan O'Brien.
