Wga 2025 Awards Winners Anora

Sean Baker's "Anora" won the Original Screenplay award at the 77th annual Writers Guild Awards, while "Nickel Boys", written by RaMell Ross and Joslyn Barnes took home the Adapted Screenplay trophy. "Anora" previously won top honors at the PGA and DGA ceremonies, further solidifying the film's frontrunner status.

In the television categories, HBO/Max's "Hacks" won the Comedy Series award and "The Penguin" nabbed the Limited Series prize. Meanwhile, Disney/FX's "Shōgun" dominated the Drama & New Series categories.

The awards were handed out in concurrent ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York. Joel Kim Booster hosted the Los Angeles ceremony from the Beverly Hilton, and Roy Wood Jr. was the master of ceremonies for the New York show at Edison Ballroom in Manhattan.
