Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actress Parker Posey ("Lost In Space", "Scream 3") has signed on to star the thriller "Wild Horse Nine" written and directed by Martin McDonagh ("In Bruges", "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri"). The cast already includes Sam Rockwell, John Malkovich and Mark Ruffalo.
Plot details have not been revealed, so far, and additional casting will be announced. Production is set to begin next month in Rapa Nui, the indigenous name for Easter Island, a protected Chilean wildlife area known for its unrivaled cultural landscape and for being the most remote inhabited island on Earth.
McDonagh is reuniting with Searchlight Pictures, Blueprint Pictures and Film4, following their collaboration on the 2022 Oscar-nominated film "The Banshees of Inisherin". Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin and Anita Overland are producing.
The project was picked up by Searchlight in 2021 with Rockwell attached to star alongside Oscar Isaac and Christopher Walken. Issac and Walken have since exited the project. SVP of production Taylor Friedman and director of development and production Peter Spencer are overseeing the project for Searchlight, reporting to heads of production and development Katie Goodson-Thomas and DanTram Nguyen.
Posey will also appear in the third season of "The White Lotus", which premieres on February 16th. On stage, Posey recently starred in The New Group's off-Broadway production of "The Seagull/Woodstock, NY".
