The highly anticipated sequel "Joker: Folie à Deux" stumbled in its opening weekend, scoring a debut that is around 60% less than the first film's opening. Lionsgate has another flop on their hands, their sixth in a row, with "Wonder" spinoff/prequel "White Bird". Meanwhile popular ghost-hunting YouTubers Sam Golbach and Colby Broc made a surprise appearance in the Top 10 with their film "Sam and Colby: The Legends of the Paranormal"

"Joker: Folie à Deux" opened with a lackluster $37.6 million from 4,102 theaters against a budget of $200 million. The sequel was initially projected to debut with around $100 million. The first film opened with $96.2 million in 2019 against a much smaller $55 million budget. Overseas it adds another $77 million for a worldwide debut of $114.6 million. The film was pretty much universally panned by both critics (33% on Rotten Tomatoes) and moviegoers ("D" CinemaScore).
In its sophomore weekend, "The Wild Robot" landed in second place with $18.8 million, down 47.2% from its debut. The film has now grossed $64.1 million domestically, while overseas it raked in $36.5 million. Worldwide tally is now at $100.7 million.
The sequel "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" finished its fifth weekend in third place with $10.1 million, down 37.5%. The film has now grossed a total of $265.3 million in North America and $137.5 million from foreign markets, which brings its global cume to $402.8 million.
At #4 we find the animated film "Transformers One" with $5.3 million, a 41.2% decline from the previous frame. After three weeks in theaters, the film has grossed $47.2 million domestically and $49.8 million overseas. That adds up to $97 million worldwide.
The Top 5 is rounded out by the thriller "Speak No Evil" with $2.7 million, down 35%. The film's domestic total has reached $32.5 million, while overseas it adds another $34.7 million for a global total of $67.3 million.
