For a third consecutive week "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" dominated the weekend box-office, while the animated sci-fi film "Transformers One" opened in second place, by a very narrow margin. Other new releases include the horror thriller "Never Let Go" starring Halle Berry, the body horror film "The Substance" starring Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley, and the documentary "Jung Kook: I Am Still" that focuses on the South Korean singer and member of global sensation BTS.

"Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" is still holding in first place with $25.9 million, down 49.5% in its third week in theaters. The film has grossed a total of $226.7 million domestically and another $104.4 million overseas. That's a tally of $331.1 million worldwide against a $100 million production budget.
"Transformers One" opened in second place with $24.6 million from 3,978 theaters. Pundits expected the animated film to score an opening weekend of $30-40 million. The lowest opening for a "Transformers" movie was 2018's "Bumblebee" ($21.6 million), and that one ended up with $127.1 million domestic box-office and $467.9 million worldwide. "Transformers One" also raked in $14 million internationally for a total of $38.6 million worldwide against a $75 million budget. The film was well received by both critics (88% on Rotten Tomatoes) and moviegoers ("A" CinemaScore).
The Blumhouse thriller "Speak No Evil" finished in third place with $5.7 million, a 49% decline from its opening weekend. That brings its 10-day domestic total to $21.3 million, to which it adds another $21.1 million from foreign markets for a worldwide total of $42.5 million.
Lionsgate scored another bomb with the horror film "Never Let Go", which opened in fourth place with $4.4 million from 2,667 theaters. Even with production costs estimated at around $20 million, it won't turn a profit for the studio, joining the ranks of Lionsgate's other mega bombs "The Crow" and "The Killer's Game". "Never Let Go" received mixed reviews from critics (64% on Rotten Tomatoes), but audiences didn't like it much ("C+" CinemaScore).
The Top 5 is rounded out by "Deadpool & Wolverine" with $3.8 million, down 26.9% from the previous frame. After nine weeks in theaters, the movie has amassed a total $627.2 million in North America and $689.9 million overseas, which adds up to $1.3 billion.
Released by MUBI, the satirical body horror movie "The Substance" scored a $3.2 million debut from 1,949 theaters. The film received rave reviews from critics (89% on Rotten Tomatoes), but a lukewarm reception from audiences ("B" CinemaScore).
