HBO Developing Three More GAME OF THRONES Spinoffs

HBO is hard at work developing no less than three new spinoffs based on their hit show "Game of Thrones", apart from the already greenlit "House of the Dragon". All three projects are based on George R.R. Martin's fantasy world. HBO previously shot a prequel pilot in 2019, but it never made it to series.

The first of the spinoffs is from "Rome" and "The Mentalist" creator Bruno Heller and its working title is "9 Voyages". The show will follow Lord Corlys Velaryon, aka The Sea Snake, the Lord of the Tides and head of House Velaryon, a character that will also be featured in "House of the Dragon", where he is played by Steve Toussaint.

The second project is titled "10,000 Ships" and focuses on the warrior queen Princess Nymeria, a revered ancestor of House Martell who founded of the kingdom of Dorne. Her story is set roughly 1,000 years before the events in "Game of Thrones".

And last, but not least, the third show is set in the notorious King's Landing slum of Flea Bottom – the maze of tight streets in the capitol city where characters like Davos Seaworth and Gendry Baratheon were born.

The already greenlit "House of the Dragon" from Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condalwill is set to begin filming in the U.K. in April. The show, which is set 300 years before the original series, stars Olivia Cooke, Emma D'Arcy, Paddy Considine and Matt Smith. It is expected to premiere in 2022.

Other GoT projects in the works are a series based on Martin's Dunk and Egg novellas, which followed the adventures of the hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg, who would later become King Aegon V Targaryen, and an animated project. Not much is known about the latter.
