Timothee Chalamet to Play Bob Dylan in Film Directed by James Mangold

Timothee Chalamet to Play Bob Dylan in Film Directed by James Mangold
Oscar nominated actor Timothee Chalamet ("Call Me by Your Name") is in talks to star as Bob Dylan in the upcoming biopic "Going Electric" directed by James Mangold ("Ford v Ferrari", "Walk the Line"). The film will chronicle Dylan's rise to fame and switch from folk to rock music.

The Fox Searchlight production is based on the book "Dylan Goes Electric" by Elijah Wald, and the adaptation is penned by Jay Cocks ("Gangs of New York", "Silence"). Dylan is working on the film with Mangold and the studio, which has secured music rights, and he will also executive produce the film. Jeff Rosen, Dylan's longtime manager, will serve as producer alongside Mangold, Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, Peter Jaysen and Fred Berger.

Chalamet will make his London stage debut on April 16th opposite Eileen Atkins in "4,000 Miles", the Old Vic production of Amy Herzog's Pulitzer-nominated drama. He will next star in Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" opposite Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan SkarsgÄrd, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Jason Momoa and Javier Bardem.
