Ali Larter to Star in Fox Cheerleader Comedy Developed by Ben Stiller
"Heroes" and "Final Destination" actress Ali Larter has signed on to star in and executive produce the single-camera comedy series "The Sidelines" for Fox. Ben Stiller will also executive produce via his Red Hour Films.

Larter will star as a newly separated mother of two who, at age 40, decides to achieve her lifelong dream of becoming a professional cheerleader. Against all odds, she makes the squad for a local Detroit football team and becomes the accidental den mother to this group of scrappy, resilient young women – and rediscovers herself in the process.

The series, which has received a script commitment, will be written by Kate Gersten ("The Good Place", "Mozart in the Jungle"). Laura Vikmanis, author of "It's Not About the Pom-Poms: How a 40-Year-Old Mom Became the NFL's Oldest Cheerleader–and Found Hope, Joy, and Inspiration Along the Way" will serve as a consulting producer.

Larter currently recurs on ABC's "The Rookie". She recently finished work on the indie western "The Last Victim" which stars Ron Perlman.
