Based on the 1925 Tri-State Tornado, the story follows Paul Graves (Affleck), the only person who didn't lose everything on the day of the storm, whose family, home and his business remained intact. However, a year later, he's faced with resentment and hostility from the locals as the small town resurrects itself from tragedy.
The film will be produced by Affleck and Matt Damon's Pearl Street Films, along with Bron Studio's Aaron L. Gilbert ("Joker"). Madison Ainley will serve as executive producer.
This is Affleck's second project for Bron. He also stars in the sports drama "The Way Back" from director Gavin O'Connor, which was financed by Bron and is set to open in theaters on March 6, 2020.
