The sci-fi action film "Kin", another newly released film, underperformed.

Find out more about the weekend box-office after the jump.

I'm pretty sure Warner Bros. is crazy happy following the awesome Labor Day weekend performance of their romantic comedy "Crazy Rich Asians". The film topped the weekend with $22.2 million after dropping just 10% from last week, and it's expected to finish the four-day holiday weekend with around $28 million, bringing its domestic total to an awesome $116 million. Overseas, the film brought in $19.9 million from 24 markets since its release.

"The Meg" is also keeping WB happy, holding over in second place with $10.5 million and an estimated $13 million for the four-day time frame. The film's domestic cume has surpassed the $120 million mark. The international tally looks even better, with $342 million from 65 markets.

Moving up one spot is "Mission: Impossible - Fallout", which finished in third place with $7 million after a 13% drop. The film will probably rake in around $9 million over the four-day weekend, in which case its domestic gross will reach $206 million. Overseas, the film has brought in close to $443 million after a fantastic $77.3 million debut in China.

In fourth place we find one of the week's new wide releases, the historical drama "Operation Finale", which opened with $6 million over the weekend and should deliver around $7.7 million for the holiday time frame, and $9.5 million since its release on Wednesday. The film has a reported budget of $24 million. The film received mixed reviews from critics (62% on Rotten Tomatoes and 58 on Metacritic), while CinemaScore reports a solid "A-" grade from its opening night polls.

The Top 5 is rounded out by Sony's social media thriller "Searching" which expanded into 1,207 theaters over the weekend, bringing in an estimated $5.7 million for the three-day time frame and should gross an estimated $7 million for the holiday weekend.

The other new wide release, the sci-fi actioner "Kin" failed to impress and opened in 12th place with $3 million from 2,141 theaters. The film received negative reviews from critics (34% on Rotten Tomatoes and 35 on Metacritic), while CinemaScore reports a "B+" grade.

In other news, "Incredibles 2" has topped $600 million afer increasing its theaters count for the holiday weekend, and "The Equalizer 2" topped $100 million. "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" also registered a 98% increase after adding more locations for the weekend, bringing its domestic cume to $414.7 million.
