Disney's live-action/CGI film "Christopher Robin" had a pretty rough weekend, failing to take down Tom Cruise's action behemoth "Mission: Impossible - Fallout". The other new arrivals, the R-rated comedy "The Spy Who Dumped Me" and the YA sci-fi thriller "The Darkest Minds" also had it pretty rough.
Find out more about the weekend box office after the jump.
"Mission: Impossible - Fallout" is still the #1 movie at the box-office, grossing $35 million over the weekend after a 42.8% drop, which brings its domestic tally to $124.4 million after 10 days. The film is also performing well overseas, with a total of $205 million.
Disney's "Christopher Robin" opened in second place with $25 million from 3,602 theaters, well below the studio's initial projections. The film also opened in 18 international markets where it grossed a total of $4.8 million. China is out of the race as the film was banned there because the Chinese leader Xi Jinping is apparently sensitive about comparisons between him and the lovable character, who has become a symbol of the resistance there.
