Disney's live-action/CGI film "Christopher Robin" had a pretty rough weekend, failing to take down Tom Cruise's action behemoth "Mission: Impossible - Fallout". The other new arrivals, the R-rated comedy "The Spy Who Dumped Me" and the YA sci-fi thriller "The Darkest Minds" also had it pretty rough.

Find out more about the weekend box office after the jump.

"Mission: Impossible - Fallout" is still the #1 movie at the box-office, grossing $35 million over the weekend after a 42.8% drop, which brings its domestic tally to $124.4 million after 10 days. The film is also performing well overseas, with a total of $205 million.

Disney's "Christopher Robin" opened in second place with $25 million from 3,602 theaters, well below the studio's initial projections. The film also opened in 18 international markets where it grossed a total of $4.8 million. China is out of the race as the film was banned there because the Chinese leader Xi Jinping is apparently sensitive about comparisons between him and the lovable character, who has become a symbol of the resistance there. "Christopher Robin" received mixed reviews from critics (68% on Rotten Tomatoes and 59 on Metacritic), and an "A" from CinemaScore's opening night polls.

In third place we find another new release, the R-rated comedy "The Spy Who Dumped Me", which opened with $12.3 million against a $40 million budget, which is also below studio expectations. The film received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics (39% on Rotten Tomatoes and 51 on Metacritic), and an okay "B" from CinemaScore".

"Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" dropped to #4 with $9 million, bringing its domestic total to $91.3 million. Overseas, the film has raked in a total of $139.2 million.

The Top 5 is rounded out by "The Equalizer 2" with $8.8 million over the weekend. The film has grossed $79.8 million and $7.7 million overseas from 11 countries.

The last of the new wide releases, Fox's YA adaptation "The Darkest Minds" tanked with $5.8 million from 3,127 theaters, ranking as the 11th worst opening of all time. Internationally the film performed just as poorly, with only $4.1 million from 37 markets. The film received mostle negative reviews from critics (19% on Rotten Tomatoes and 38 on Metacritic), and "B" from CinemaScore

In other news, the horror sequel "Unfriended: Dark Web" got pulled out of theaters in its second weekend, dropping a catastrophic 85.7% (the third worst second weekend drop of all-time), which pretty much ended its theatrical run at $8.6 million against a $1 million budget.
