The gritty action thriller "Sicario: Day of the Soldado" is now in theaters. The sequel to the 2015 film directed by Denis Villeneuve stars Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro. Reviews for the film have been mixed to positive. Another new wide release is the basketball comedy "Uncle Drew" starring real-life basketball player Kyrie Irving.

SICARIO: DAY OF THE SOLDADO Trailers, TV Spots, Clips, Featurettes, Images and Posters

Directed by Stefano Sollima ("A.C.A.B.", "Gomora"), the action thriller "Sicario: Day of the Soldado" is a sequel to Denis Villeneuve's 2015 film "Sicario". The script is once again written by Taylor Sheridan ("Hell or High Water").

Josh Brolin and Benicio del Toro reprise their roles as CIA agent Matt Graver and mysterious assassin Alejandro. The two join forces to burn down the cartels responsible for trafficking terrorists across the U.S. border.

The film also stars Isabela Moner, Jeffrey Donovan, Catherine Keener, Matthew Modine, Shea Whigham, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Elijah Rodriguez.

"Sicario: Day of the Soldado" opened in theaters on June 29, 2018. The film received mixed to positive reviews from critics. Sony is anticipating a $12 million opening weekend, but after the film grossed $2 million from Thursday night previews, pundits are expecting a slightly bigger debut.

The second season of Netflix's comedy series "GLOW" has been released on June 29, 2018. Created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, the show is a fictionalized chronicle of the 1980s syndicated women's professional wrestling circuit known as GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling).

The cast features Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Sydelle Noel, Britney Young, Marc Maron, Kate Nash, Jackie Tohn and Britt Baron. The new season adds Shakira Barrera as Yolanda aka Yo-Yo.

Jared Leto to Star in SPIDER-MAN Spinoff MORBIUS

Oscar winner Jared Leto has signed on to star in Sony's upcoming spinoff based on the "Spider-Man" comic book universe. This will be Leto's second foray into comic book territory after playing the Joker in Warner Bros' DC Comics adaptation "Suicide Squad".

Leto will play Morbius the Living Vampire, an antihero of the Marvel comics created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane in 1971. The character is Dr. Michael Morbius, a scientist who attempted to cure himself of a rare blood disease, but ended up turning into a vampire and one of Spider-Man's enemies. In time he became a hero of sorts and headlined his own comic book titles.

The spinoff will be directed by "Safe House" and "Life" helmer Daniel Espinosa from a script by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, the creators of Netflix's "Lost in Space" remake.

"Morbius" is expected to begin production this year. In the meantime, the other "Spider-Man" spinoff, "Venom", will be released on October 5th, and the MCU sequel "Spider-Man: Far From Home" will hit theaters on July 5, 2019.

ALEX STRANGELOVE Trailer, Featurette, Images and Poster

"Alex Strangelove" is a dramedy written and directed by Craig Johnson ("The Skeleton Twins", "Wilson"), that tells the story of a well-rounded high school senior (Daniel Doheny) with a wonderful girlfriend (Madeline Weinstein) and a bright future ahead of him, who meets an openly gay teenager (Antonio Marziale), an event which triggers a rollercoaster journey of sexual exploration.

The film is produced by Ben Stiller, Jared Goldman and Nicholas Weinstock. "Alex Strangelove" premiered at the San Francisco International Film Festival and was released by Netflix on June 8, 2018. The film received mixed reviews from critics.

Jeremy Irons Joins HBO's WATCHMEN Series

Veteran actor Jeremy Irons has joined the cast of HBO's upcoming "Watchmen" pilot for a new series based on Alan Moore's graphic novel series of the same name. Details about Irons' role are being kept under wraps, but it's definitely a lead role. The show is being developed by Damon Lindelof ("Lost", "The Leftovers"), who has explained on Instagram that it will not be a simple adaptation, but a "remix":

"We have no desire to ‘adapt’ the twelve issues Mr. Moore and Mr. [Dave] Gibbons created thirty years ago. Those issues are sacred ground and they will not be retread nor recreated nor reproduced nor rebooted. They will, however, be remixed."

The series is set in an alternate history where superheroes are treated as outlaws, and it embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own. Lindelof wrote the script and will also executive produce alongside pilot director Nicole Kassell and Tom Spezialy.

The cast also includes Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens and Andrew Howard.

NEVER STEADY, NEVER STILL (2017) - Trailers, Featurette, Images and Poster

The Canadian drama "Never Steady, Never Still" tells the story of a mother (Shirley Henderson) struggling to maintain control of her life in the face of advanced Parkinson's disease, while her son (Théodore Pellerin) is struggling to come to terms with his sexual and emotional identity amongst the violence of Alberta's oil field work camps.

The film is the feature film directorial debut of Kathleen Hepburn, based on her own 2015 short of the same name. Mary Galloway, Nicholas Campbell, Jared Abrahamson and Hugo Ateo co-star.

"Never Steady, Never Still" premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival and received a limited release in theaters on June 22, 2018. The film received mostly positive reviews.

Russell Crowe to Star As Roger Ailes in Showtime Limited Series

Oscar winner Russell Crowe is set to star former Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes in an upcoming limited series developed for Showtime. The eight-episode miniseries is based on Gabriel Sherman's New York magazine articles and subsequent book "The Loudest Voice in the Room: How the Brilliant, Bombastic Roger Ailes Built Fox News--and Divided a Country".

The film will be told from multiple perspectives and is intended to shed light on the psychology that drives the political process from the top down. Ailes ran Fox News for two decades starting in 1996, and was forced to leave the company in 2016, following multiple accusations of sexual harassment. Ailes became and adviser for Donald Trump's campaign after he left Fox, and died months later.

The first episode's script will be written by Sherman and "Spotlight" writer/director Tom McCarthy. McCarthy and Jason Blum ("Get Out") will serve as executive producers.

The limited series does not have an official premiere date, but Entertainment Weekly has suggested a possible 2019 release.

Here is Showtime's description of the series:

"To understand the events that led to the rise of Donald Trump, one must understand Ailes. The upcoming limited series takes on that challenge, focusing primarily on the past decade in which Ailes arguably became the Republican Party’s de facto leader, while flashing back to defining events in Ailes’s life, including an initial meeting with Richard Nixon on the set of The Mike Douglas Show that gave birth to Ailes’s political career, and the sexual harassment accusations and settlements that brought his Fox News reign to an end. Told through multiple points of view, the limited series aims to shed light on the psychology that drives the political process from the top down.

In many ways, the collision between the media and politics has come to define the world we live in today. We’ve seen this phenomenon depicted on screen as far back as the story of Charles Foster Kane, and it finds contemporary embodiment in the rise and fall of Roger Ailes. With Russell Crowe in the lead role, this limited series promises to be a defining story for this era."

"The Catcher Was a Spy" is a biopic directed by Ben Lewin ("The Sessions") based on the novel of the same name written by Nicholas Dawidoff. The script was written by Robert Rodat ("Saving Private Ryan").

The film tells the true story of Moe Berg (Paul Rudd), a major league baseball player, who is recruited by the Office of Strategic Services (the precursor to the CIA) to help defeat the Nazis in the race to build the first atomic bomb. Mark Strong, Connie Nielsen, Sienna Miller, Guy Pearce, Jeff Daniels, Paul Giamatti, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shea Whigham, Tom Wilkinson, Giancarlo Giannini and Jeff Daniels co-star.

With the help of her two best friends, Kathleen (Mena Suvari) and Diana (Jennifer Bartels), these three women each discover their own brand of independence in a glamorous and ever-changing world reluctant to give it.

BOUNDARIES (2018) - Trailer, Clips, Featurette, Images and Poster

"Boundaries" is a dramedy written and directed by Shana Feste ("Country Strong"). The film tells the story of a single mother (Vera Farmiga) who must drive her estranged pot-dealing father (Christopher Plummer) across the country after he was kicked out of his retirement home. Lewis MacDougall, Kristen Schaal, Bobby Cannavale, Peter Fonda and Dolly Wells co-star.

"Boundaries" premiered at the 2018 South by Southwest film festival and was released in theaters on June 22, 2018. The film received mixed reviews from critics.

SALVATION Season 2 Promo, Clip, Featurettes, Images and Poster

The sci-fi drama series "Salvation" has returned for its second season. The series was created by Elizabeth Kruger, Craig Shapiro and Matt JL Wheeler, and it focuses on the discovery of an asteroid that will impact Earth in just six months, and the efforts to prevent the catastrophe. In the new season, the existence of the asteroid has been revealed to the public, leading to further complications.

The cast features Santiago Cabrera, Jennifer Finnigan, Charlie Rowe, Jacqueline Byers, Rachel Drance, Shazi Raja and Ian Anthony Dale.

"Salvation" Season 2 is set to premiere on CBS tonight, June 25, 2018, at 9p.
