"Captain America: Brave New World" is still the #1 movie with $14.8 million over the weekend, which is a 47.3% decline from the previous frame. The film has now grossed $163.5 million domestically, and $178.4 million internationally, which adds up to $341.9 million worldwide.
"Last Breath" made its debut in second place with a modest $7.8 million from 3,018 theaters. Overseas it only grossed $537,000, which despite the film only costing $23.8 million to produce, will make it very difficult for the film to turn a profit.
The Stephen King adaptation "The Monkey" finished its second week in third place, grossing $6.4 million, down 54.2% from its opening weekend. The domestic tally has reached $24.6 million, while overseas it adds another $6.6 million.
"Paddington in Peru" landed at #4 with $4.5 million, which is a softer 30.5% decline. After three weeks in theaters, the film has now grossed $31.3 million in North America. Overseas, it raked in $133 million, which brings its global cume to $164.3 million. Still not great considering it had a budget of $90 million.
The Top 5 is rounded out by "Dog Man" with $4.2 million, down just 27.5% in its fifth weekend. So far, the film has grossed $84.1 million domestically and $29 million from foreign markets for a global total of $113.1 million against a $40 million budget.
In other news, the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX: Beginning" made it into the Top 10, opening in ninth place with $916,664 from 784 theaters. The dark comedy "Riff Raff" starring Jennifer Coolidge and Bill Murray missed making the Top 10 with $911,053 from 1,004 theaters.
