Italian actor Michele Morrone ("365 Days") is set to star in Lionsgate's upcoming thriller "The Housemaid" directed by Paul Feig from a script by Rebecca Sonnenshine ("The Boys", "The Keeping Hours", "Archive 81") based on Freida McFadden's novel. The film also stars Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar.
Sweeney plays Millie, a struggling young woman who is relieved to get a fresh start as a housemaid to Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew (Sklenar), an upscale, wealthy couple. She soon learns that the family's secrets are far more dangerous than her own. The film is produced by Hidden Pictures/Feigco Entertainment.
Morrone is also set to star in Feig's "A Simple Favor 2", and can next be seen opposite James Franco and Bella Thorne in "Bunny-Man". He is also set to play Alfieri Il Maserati in Bobby Moresco's "Maserati: The Brothers", which also stars Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia and Jessica Alba.
Hidden Pictures' Todd Lieberman will produce. Carly Kleinbart Elter will oversee the project for Hidden Pictures. Feigco's Paul Feig and Laura Fischer are also producing. Sweeney and Seyfried are executive producing alongside Alex Young and McFadden. Chelsea Kujawa and Erin Jones-Wesley are overseeing for Lionsgate. Phil Strina negotiated the deals for the studio.
