Tom Holland to Star in Christopher Nolan's New Movie

Tom Holland To Star In Christopher Nolan Movie

"Spider-Man: No Way Home" star Tom Holland is in talks to star in Christopher Nolan's next film. Matt Damon has already joined the cast of the movie that is written and directed by Nolan. Universal will release the film in theaters on July 17, 2026.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but sources say the setting is not present day. The untitled project is expected to start shooting in early 2025. Nolan is producing alongside producing partner and wife Emma Thomas for their Syncopy banner. Damon previously worked with Nolan on "Interstellar" and "Oppenheimer".

The actor, best known for playing Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will be busy with the fourth "Spider-Man" movie and a potential "Avengers" sequel over the next year. "Spider-Man 4" was delayed enough that Holland's co-star Zendaya will now be shooting "Dune 3" in early 2026 rather than next year. Holland has also appeared in the West End adaptation of "Romeo & Juliet" alongside Francesca Amewudah-Rivers.

For his new movie Nolan reunites with the studio that backed his hugely successful Oscar-winning historical drama "Oppenheimer" ($975 million worldwide), which was the filmmaker's first collaboration with Universal. In doing so, the director severed a nearly two-decade long creative partnership with Warner Bros. Nolan reportedly went directly to Universal for his new project rather than shopping the film around.
