Taraji P. Henson Joins Peacock's True Crime Limited Series FIGHT NIGHT

Taraji P Henson Picture

Oscar-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson has joined the cast of the upcoming limited series "Fight Night" developed by Peacock. "Hustle & Flow" filmmaker Craig Brewer will executive produce and direct the first two episodes.

Based on the podcast of the same name, the show is set in Atlanta in 1970 and it tells the infamous story of how an armed robbery during the night of Muhammad Ali's historic 1970 comeback fight changed not only one man's life, but an entire city's destiny.

The cast also includes Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, Terrence Howard, and Dexter Darden. Henson, Howard and Brewer previously worked together on the Oscar-winning film "Hustle & Flow" and the music drama series "Empire".

Hart will star as Chicken Man, a hustler trying to level up, while Henson will play Vivian Thomas, Chicken Man's mistress and a savvy businesswoman. Darden will star as legendary boxer Muhammad Ali.

Shaye Ogbonna serves as creator, and showruns alongside Jason Horwitch. Both executive produce alongside Hart, Bryan Smiley and Mike Stein for Hartbeat; Will Packer and Sabrina Wind for Will Packer Media; Conal Byrne and Carrie Lieberman for iHeartPodcasts; and Jeff Keating of Doghouse Pictures LLC and Lars Jacobson.
