Ana de Armas ("No Time to Die", "Knives Out") is set to join the cast of Apple Original Films' "Ghosted" directed by Dexter Fletcher ("Rocketman") from a script by "Deadpool" scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. She will reteam with her "Knives Out" co-star Chris Evans. Johansson had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict.
The film has been described as a high concept romantic action adventure. Apple acquired the project over the summer and intends to get it into production by February, which is why Johansson had to exit.
Producers include Skydance's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger, Jules Daly and Evans, while de Armas will also serve as an executive producer.
De Armas recently starred with Evans and Ryan Gosling in Netflix's "The Gray Man" directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, and is also in talks to play the lead in the John Wick spinoff "Ballerina".
