Tiffany Haddish To Star As Olympic Icon Florence Griffith Joyner in Upcoming Biopic

Tiffany Haddish To Star As Olympic Icon Florence Griffith Joyner in Upcoming Biopic
Tiffany Haddish ("Girls Trip", "Bad Trip") is set to produce and star in a Game1 biopic about Florence Griffith Joyner, known as "Flo-Jo" to her fans, who helped popularize track and field with her record-breaking Olympic run and flashy personality and style.

Haddish will play Flo-Jo in a feature that tells the story of the Olympian's remarkable life and untimely death, showcasing her historic feats, but also her enduring impact on the entire world of sports and in the communities that needed her help and inspiration the most. She was an icon to many kids including Haddish. Many of the records she set in the 1988 Olympics, including those in the 100 m and 200 m, have yet to be broken.

Game1 Co-CEO's Basil Iwanyk and Greg Economou will also serve as producers on this film. In addition, Flo-Jo's widower and former coach, Al Joyner, will serve as a producer and creative consultant on the project. He has already begun training Haddish to play the role, using methods that his late wife deployed during her career.

Haddish is also set to star in Paul Schrader's "The Card Counter" alongside Oscar Isaac and Tye Sheridan. Game1 and Haddish also announced that they will partner on companion projects, including a documentary series and a podcast.
