Michael B. Jordan to Star in METHUSELAH for Warner Bros

Michael B. Jordan to Star in METHUSELAH for Warner Bros
"Black Panther" and "Creed" star Michael B. Jordan has signed on to star in Warner Bros' long-developing thriller "Methuselah". In the works for at least a decade, the film is inspired by the Biblical story of the titular man who lived over 900 years, and it follows Jordan's character, who has lived for hundreds of years, using his time on Earth to amass vast stores of knowledge.

Tom Cruise was originally set to star in the lead, and now that Jordan has taken over the role, the story will have to be slightly tweaked to better suit the actor. According to insider reports, Warner considers the film to have a "Highlander-like mythology and franchise potential". Jordan will also produce alongside Jeffrey Clifford ("Paddington 2") and David Heyman ("Gravity").

Not much else is known about the production at this time. No director or writers are officially on board at the moment, despite several names like Zach Dean, Tony Gilroy and Joachim Rønning being attached to previous versions.

Michael B. Jordan has recently starred as the villain in Marvel's "Black Panther" and the protagonist of the "Rocky" sequel/reboot "Creed II". He is also attached to star in the courtroom drama "Just Mercy" alongside Jamie Foxx and Brie Larson, Denzel Washington's next directorial effort "Journal for Jordan", and the Tom Clancy adaptation "Without Remorse", in which he will play CIA operative John Clark.
