The Icelandic survival drama "Arctic" stars Mads Mikkelsen as a man stranded in the Arctic after an airplane crash who must decide whether to remain in the relative safety of his camp or to embark on a deadly trek for potential salvation. The film is co-written and directed by Brazilian filmmaker Joe Penna, who is famous on the Internet for his YouTube channel MysteryGuitarMan, which has over 2.7 million subscribers. It also stars Maria Thelma Smáradóttir.

"Arctic" premiered at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Golden Camera award, and was released in theaters on February 1, 2019. It received generally positive reviews from critics.
